The 2nd round of the National Outdoor Championships were held on Sunday at a wet and windy Cork Summer Show in Curaheen, Co. Cork. Mens and womens teams from around the country traveled to take part. Members of the Donoughmore club organised a demonstration competition with students from they’re local Firmount and Stuake National Schools taking part. The competition was refereed by Dan McCarthy, President of the Irish Tug of War Association. It was a great addition to the day and is something we can hopefully grow in future years to involve more schools from around the county. Well done to the Donoughmore club members involved in organising the competition but especially to the students who trained for the event, it was great preparation for when they hope to be back out at the Donoughmore Carnival in July in better weather hopefully.
